Its history

Firat University State Conservatory T.C.Presidency of the Council of Higher Education 08.05.1997 and B.30.0.EÖB.It was established by the decision of 0.00.00.03-06.04 864. With the Department of Basic Sciences of Turkish Music, which was the first department opened, education and training began in 2001-2002 by taking 20 students.

The name of the department has been changed to Basic Sciences by the Executive Board of Higher Education dated 07/01/2009. With this decision, the Turkish Folk Music Department and the Turkish Art Music Department were established within the Department of Basic Sciences.

Again, with the decision of the Executive Board of Higher Education dated 12/08/2009, the Folk Dances Department was also opened within our Conservatory, thus increasing the number of departments to two. However, the lack of a suitable building, lack of teaching staff, etc. due to such issues, student recruitment has not yet been made to this department, so education-training has not been started.

The name of Basic Sciences was changed to Turkish Music Program at the 11.03.2020 Higher Education Executive Board meeting.
